Spooky Business
GBHS's Year 12 Business Studies classes visited Spookers today for an informative and enjoyable learning experience, as part of their upcoming Business Studies assessment, 'Investigate the Application of Motivation Theory in a Business'.
A key focus of the trip was to investigate how staff are motivated in their workplace. Students interviewed a range of employees and gathered valuable insights into what encourages them to perform their roles effectively. Staff shared their views on factors such as teamwork, workplace culture, recognition, flexible working conditions, and the enjoyment they gain from creating memorable experiences for customers.
By connecting learned motivation theories studied in class with real-world business practices and speaking directly with employees, students gained a better understanding of how businesses can use different motivational strategies to improve employee satisfaction and performance.
Of course, the trip was not all work and no play! Students also had the chance to experience some of Spookers' famous attractions, making the day both educational and entertaining. The combination of hands-on learning and interactive experiences made the visit memorable for everyone involved.
We would like to thank Jason, Barbara, and the team at Spookers for welcoming us, sharing their knowledge, and helping us gather information for our assessment.
