Badminton Gold
Congratulations to Eben Speakman (Year 9) and Mont Lai (Year 10) who were selected for the Under 15 squad to compete for the Howat Shieldplay Badminton New Zealand National Junior Team, representing Waitakere - winning GOLD! (5 - 8 July, 2026).
Mont and Eben play badminton together at Titirangi Badminton Club. During the recent term break, they represented Waitakere at the 2026 New Zealand National Junior Team Championships, held in Palmerston North from 5 - 8 July.
What started as a simple goal of “Let’s give it a go” grew into “We’re in the final!” and ended with “Let’s go for gold!” - and that’s exactly what they achieved.
