YouTube celebrity InfinityPlusOne Subash Chandar K held a captivated audience today, during his visit to Green Bay High School.

The Auckland maths teacher is an inspiration to NCEA-level students, thanks to his maths videos and tutorials, and has over 35,000 subscribers.

Year 12 student Snigda Datla replied to a post she saw of Subash visiting another school - asking him to visit GBHS. She hoped the visit would be part of a fantastic birthday surprise for her friend, Haruka Shikai (Year 12), as they are both avid followers!

There is an obvious buzz of mathematical excitement building, with NCEA assessments underway, and in the lead-up to NCEA exams (5 - 29 November). Amongst the crowd of students, comments such as “You honestly saved my life during exams” and “This is the best day, ever!” were heard as students lined up to get an InfinityPlusOne autograph on their calculator.

InfinityPlusOne presented Zoe Lightowler (Yr 11) and Mysha Azimullah (Yr 11) with t-shirts, saying they were proactive followers who take the initiative to problem solve.

The InfinityPlusOne YouTube channel is dedicated to NCEA Level 1 Mathematics, NCEA Level 2 Mathematics and NCEA Level 3 Calculus. With videos on Skills, Tips, Calculator Use (Casio fx-9750 GII), Worked Answers and Exam Revision.
