U60s

Kia ora koutou; One of the highlights for me this week was watching both our senior and junior teams competing in the EPro8 semi-finals.

EPro8 is an engineering and problem-solving competition, where teams select and then build a ‘challenge’ in a timed situation. There was plenty of discussion, trial and error and creative thinking, and what I enjoyed most was seeing how much the students loved what they were doing.

There is a lot happening over the next few days. Our U60 rugby team plays in its final on Saturday, and we wish the boys all the very best. Saturday night is also our School Ball, always a highlight for our senior students. The Ball has been a topic of conversation for many months, so there is plenty of excitement building. I hope everyone attending has a fantastic and safe evening.

We then head into Winter Tournament Week, with four Green Bay teams competing: Boys’ and Girls’ 1st XI Football, Premier Netball and U19 Boys Basketball. Getting to this point represents a huge amount of training and commitment from our students, as well as from the coaches, managers and whānau who support them. I am looking forward to seeing them all in action next week.

It is a big week for sport at Green Bay, and I know there will be plenty of people following the results from back at school. Good luck to all of our teams.

Have a great weekend.
