GBHS Career Chats, with Guest Speakers:
GBHS's weekly 'Kawhe Kōrero' sessions are held each Tuesday lunchtime in E3! Students have the opportunity to ask real questions and have them answered by real people in the industry.
TERM 3 GUEST SPEAKERS:
- Tuesday 28th July: ENGINEERING - with guest speakers: Professor Emilio Calius, Aerospace engineer (NASA); Christopher Hughe and Kurt Haywood, Geotechnical and Structural engineering at Jacobs; and Petra Saecker-Battley, Environmental Engineer and Geomorphologist at Morphum.
- Tuesday 4th August: PHYSICS - with guest speaker: Doctor Joseph Ashby, from Auckland University.
- Tuesday 11th August: PHYSIOTHERAPY - with guest speakers: Angela Moore, owner of Moore than Physio; Zach Jansen, GBHS Alumni and AUT Year 2 Physio student.
- Tuesday 18th August: IT, AI and CYBER SECURITY - with guest speakers: Vikesh Patel, from Google; Mikey Ramirez, founder and CEO of CoachMate; Neil Smith, from Defend; Sophie Proctor and Ammaar Khan (GBHS Alumni), from Techtorium.
- Tuesday 25th August: AVIATION, PILOT, FLIGHT ATTENDANT - with guest speakers: Healther Gallagher, Air hostess and Corporate sales (GBHS Alumni); Captain Katherine Stacey, Jetstar Pilot.
- Tuesday 1st September: ANIMALS - with guest speakers: Dr Fiona, Senior Vet Nurse from Blockhouse Bay Vets; Auckland Zoo worker, Sian Buley.
- Tuesday 8th September: DOCTOR / NURSE - with guest speakers: Dr April Garton, from Waitakere Hospital; Jessica Lawson, Community Nurse from Parkinsons NZ
