Kia ora tatou, It’s hard to believe that we are now halfway through the term, and the sunshine this week has made such a difference!
The NCEA external exams began this week and have run incredibly smoothly so far. It has been great seeing our senior students coming in for workshops, revision, and their exams. Recently, NZQA conducted an MNA (Managing National Assessment) review at Green Bay High School. The purpose of these reviews check the assessment processes and systems that schools have in place for internally assessed national qualifications. These reviews are carried out at least once every one to four years, depending on how well a school’s assessment systems are performing. This year’s review found our school’s systems to be highly effective, which is the highest possible outcome. I am very proud of this result and want to thank our Deputy Principal in charge of assessment Kheang Ov, Assessment Data Manager Amber Osborn, and all staff for working together to create such an effective process.
A real highlight this week was our Technology Exhibition, showcasing student work from product design, construction, engineering, and fashion technology classes. The standard of work was outstanding, and the creativity and ingenuity on display were truly inspiring. I’m sure these pieces will be both enjoyed and treasured. I would like to sincerely thank the Technology team for their hard work and passion, both in the classrooms and in bringing this exhibition to life.
There’s plenty of sport across the weekend, and I look forward to seeing many of you there!
Ngā mihi nui, Fiona Barker
