Kia ora e te whānau; It has been great welcoming students and staff back to school this week. I always enjoy chatting to students about what they did in their break, and sleeping, eating and catching up with friends and whānau are the most regular themes!
Now that (hopefully) the good weather is here, it’s been great seeing students out making the most of the field and turf space. With a growing school roll, we’ve been putting time into thinking about how we can make the most of different spaces around the school so that students can be active at breaks and lunchtimes. In the next week or so, we have two large table tennis tables being installed in the D Block quad - and a plan of the different locations we can paint handball courts is being developed. We’ll be working with the Sports Council to look at more ideas for what we can do around the school.
I loved reading about our 02VOC students who have been volunteering at the Salvation Army shop in New Lynn this week. Finding ways to help and support other people is the foundation of a great community and I am really proud of our students.

NEW Bicycle Racks
Check out the new BIKE RACK! GBHS Groundstaff have been very busy over the term break and our grounds and gardens look amazing...a new addition over the break is the installation of our new Bicycle Rack, which is now set in place and ready for action! Located in the Music Block car park area. Additional bicycle racks will also be added shortly, with the existing two sets moving from their current spot near the school gym, to their new fixed position (in the music block car park). Security cameras…
