Kia ora e te whānau;
It has been fantastic to welcome the full school back this week, and I’ve really enjoyed catching up with students and hearing about what they’ve been doing over the summer break. The year has started positively, with classrooms settled and productive, and it’s been great to see students engaging so well with their learning. I am particularly proud of our Year 9 students and those new to the school at other year levels. Joining a new school is a big step, and I have been so impressed with the very positive start they have made.
This positive start reflects the strong relationships between our students and our staff, and I want to acknowledge the commitment of our fantastic staff who work hard to support each and every learner. Our vision, Te Angitu Ngātahi - succeeding together, is already evident in the way our community has come together to support the start of the year.
Beyond the classroom, there are plenty of opportunities for students to get involved in the wider life of the school, with the summer sport season already up and running. I really encourage all students to make the most of what’s on offer and to challenge themselves to try something new.
I hope you all enjoy a safe and relaxing Waitangi weekend.
