GBHS Newsletter (Week 6) 12th-17th November, 2023

Once senior students leave in term 4, the juniors definitely make the most of the extra space around the school and the different opportunities that are on offer! There have been so many highlights for our juniors this week. We have had another fantastic LIA camp at the Pinnacles, the junior volleyball Auckland champs were held out in Takanini and GBHS students took part in the girls’ Programming Challenge for the first time. The annual Junior Arts Showcase took place on Wednesday and it was a really special evening. The quality of student artwork and the different technology projects on display in the Audi foyer really set the tone for the evening. The showcase brought together music, dance and drama. The performances were slick and really highlighted the hardworking, talented students we have at GBHS. The best thing was that they looked like they were having an absolute blast. Behind all these fantastic opportunities are wonderful families and passionate, dedicated teachers and I am really grateful to the time and talent they share with our students.

We’ve now finished the second week of our NCEA exams and I’m proud of our senior students. Attendance at the external exams over the past two weeks has been really good. Turning up and trying your best in the exams has been our mantra and it has been great to see our senior students doing just that.

We have a Teacher’s Only Day at GBHS on Monday - but NCEA exams carry on as usual.

Have a great weekend.
