Kia ora e te whānau;
This week, we formally began the 2026 school year with pōwhiri, welcoming both our new Year 9 students and their whānau, and our new staff, into the Green Bay High School community.
For our new students and staff, this marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. At Green Bay High School, our vision 'Te Angitu Ngātahi - Succeeding Together' sits at the heart of all we do, reminding us that success is shared and grounded in achievement, belonging, wellbeing, and growth. I am delighted to welcome our new staff and teacher trainees to our school this year, who bring with them a wide range of experience and enthusiasm to our community.
I am really looking forward to welcoming back all returning students in Years 10-13 on Monday, 2 February. It is always great to feel the energy and buzz our students bring across the school. Just a reminder that all students will begin the day in Form class. (Year 10, 11, 12, 13 students are advised to login to the Web Portal to check their Timetable and Form class).
I look forward to hearing the summer stories and beginning the year with confidence, care, and a shared sense of purpose.
Nau mai, haere mai ki Green Bay High School. I wish everyone a positive and rewarding year ahead.

Year 9s demonstrated our school values by working together to create replica Values images, as seen in these drone images (above) captured by past pupil Carter Ward today, (30 January 2026).
Green Bay High School is always awash with colour, fun, laughter, and sportsmanship during our school-wide House events. House competitions provide a sense of competition and whanau support, through a range of school based activities.
House events are run throughout the year with points awarded for each event.…
