GBHS Newsletter (28 April 2023)
Kia ora e te whānau; It’s great to be back at school this week and already there is a lot happening. Our level two geography students set off on Wednesday for three days in the Tongariro National Park and on Thursday we hosted our first fono of the year with many of our Pasifika whānau coming together to share dinner and make great connections at school.
This week, we were delighted to have our first post-covid parent night led by Steve Deakin from Changeworks, which focused on upcoming programmes which support our boys to develop resilience and positive life skills. Life can be challenging for everyone at times and we’re grateful to have worked with Steve for over 10 years.
As you may have seen in the media, the industrial action continues this term. Please take a look at the story included in this week's newsletter, which will give you detailed information about the next strike day and the rostering home across the term.
Winter sports kicks off this weekend with the 1st XI and the junior netball teams beginning the season. It just feels so good to have our students involved in lots of different activities.
Have a great weekend. Fiona Barker PRINCIPAL
