Kia ora e te whānau; Today has been a day of celebration and reflection as we farewelled our senior students who are now heading into their study leave.
Saying goodbye to our Year 13s, and to those students who won’t be returning next year, is always bittersweet. Over the past five years, they have shaped our school through their achievements, leadership, and the everyday moments that make GBHS what it is. We wish all our senior students the very best for their upcoming exams, and to our leavers, every success for your next steps.
Our 2026 Student Leaders were also announced today, and I want to congratulate all the Year 12 students who were nominated and those selected. I’m looking forward to working alongside this outstanding group next year and seeing the energy, ideas, and leadership they will bring to our school community.
Looking ahead, our Junior students have plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks with Beach Ed, Softball Day, and the Amazing Race, all wonderful opportunities for learning, teamwork, and fun. Have a great long weekend.
Ngā mihi nui,
Fiona Barker
