GBHS Newsletter (1 September 2023)

It’s been a fantastic week for those students who have represented GBHS at sporting tournaments around the North Island. For each team there have been wins and losses but what I’ve enjoyed the most is hearing about hard-fought games and great sportsmanship on display. Respecting other players, referees and the rules of the game is critical and I am proud of the way our students have made the most of their tournament experience.

The annual music showcase took place on Tuesday and was a real celebration of the talented students in our school. I was blown away but the range of music performed, from Irish reels to original songs played by our school bands, jazz tunes to choral arrangements, our students have an incredible amount of talent.

It’s now only a few days until practice exams begin and I know that many students are well into their exam preparations. For those who haven’t yet started, it’s not too late and I’d really encourage all students to work hard in preparation for these exams.
