Blue Moon photography by Zev Fishman:
Stargazers, astrologers, photographers ... and our very own Head of Faculty Science, Mr Zev Fishman ... have captured images of a stunning, rare super blue moonrise.
A supermoon occurs three or four times a year when the full moon is as close to Earth as it can get. On Thursday night (31 August 2023) the moon was approximately 20,000km closer to Earth than usual. This is the first time the astronomical phenomenon has appeared in our skies in 14 years.
The photograph shown above was taken by Zev, through his telescope. What an amazing sight!
