GBHS Newsletter (13 October 2023)
Term 4 has started with a bang! The Health Centre and Student Reception underwent a mini-renovation over the break and it has been great seeing the reaction of students and staff to these changes. The school roll has grown by over 500 students over the past 5 years and we are constantly looking at new ways of using space around the school to meet the needs of our students. We’ve increased the space and created a new consultation room in the Health Centre and re-organised the Student Reception area to improve the flow and organisation of this space. Changes will continue across term 4 as we renovate four toilet blocks over the next few months. The toilet blocks are part of the original school buildings and are well overdue for a makeover. We’ll share more about these renovations over the next few weeks.
The summer season of sport for juniors kicked off this week with volleyball, and other codes will start across the next couple of weeks. Week 2 will be filled with sport as the GBHS staff battle it out with Year 13 students at lunchtimes. I’m looking forward to seeing who will claim the bragging rights this year!
Have a great weekend.
