It has been a memorable week for Brooke Harley (Year 10), who travelled with the NZ Tag Blacks to compete in the ITF Tag World Cup in Coffs Harbour, Australia.
Brooke, who plays Middle for the NZ U16 Girls' Tag Blacks team, played nine games over three days (15–18 October).
With 6 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss, the team secured third place, coming away with the Bronze medal.
• 1st Australia
• 2nd Great Britain
• 3rd New Zealand
Brooke played in the Nationals for Northland and trialled for the NZ team, with only 18 girls selected. Held every three years, this is the first time the U16 grade has been included in the World Cup, making it a particularly exciting milestone for Brooke and her teammates.
The skills developed in Tag will transfer seamlessly across Brooke's other sport commitments, making her one to watch in club and school fixtures on the Netball court and Rugby field!
