Programming Challenge for Girls (PC4G) – Event Highlights

Four of our students proudly represented our school at the Programming Challenge for Girls (PC4G) held on Tuesday 18 November at Auckland University. The participating students were Amina Zhang, Yi Nuo Li, Fruitie Yin, and Ella Stirrup.

Out of 113 teams from across New Zealand Amina and Yi achieved an impressive 28th place, while Fruitie and Ella secured 62nd place.

Amina and Yi were quick to solve the easier problems, reaching second place early in the contest and showing excellent problem-solving speed. Although they found the more challenging problems tougher, their performance was outstanding - especially considering they have only been learning Python for one week!

A special commendation goes to Year 9 student Ella Stirrup, who is competing in a field largely made up of Year 10 students.

This event was a fantastic learning opportunity and provided valuable experience for all the students involved. We are proud of their effort, teamwork, and enthusiasm.
