'EVolocity' Race Day is this Sunday (19 October 2025) at Hampton Downs!

A group of Green Bay High School students, supported by teacher Aaron Povey, are putting their Electric Vehicle (EV) to the test in Auckland's Electric Vehicle Showdown - entering in the Standard Bike and Open Bike classes.

GBHS's young engineers are a mixed team of Year 11 and Year 12 students: Charlie Whitten (team captain), Harum Westerdahl, Shay Milne, Lucca Bottiani, Aiden Wemyss, Hamish Oord, and Bee Smith, who have been very busy after school each Wednesday building these wonderful and extraordinarily innovative machines!

EVolocity students nationwide come together each year to showcase their vehicle designs and compete on the track against other schools (and clubs) within their region at the Regional Final event series.

Awards on the day recognise achievements in innovation, engineering excellence, sustainability, and overall team/vehicle theme.

Go-o-o-o-o-o GBHS!
