This year a select group of L1 Drawing/Painting students from Green Bay High School are going to be exhibiting their altered book sculptures as part of this year's NZ Sculpture Onshore (4th-19th November).
Our students are incredibly lucky to have GBHS Art teacher, Karin Aaltio, working very hard to make this happen, giving our students a fantastic real-world experience - exhibiting their work with professional artists from across New Zealand.
The Schools' Exhibition showcases collaborative works, created by students from primary, intermediate and secondary schools across Auckland. The exhibition is staged in the historic underground fort which offers a unique space. Selected high schools are also given the opportunity to exhibit above ground.
Prizes will be awarded to exhibiting schools:
- Angela Morton Primary School Prize
- Angela Morton Intermediate/Secondary School Prize
- 2x Highly Commended prizes. These prizes have been generously donated by the Morton Family, in loving memory of Angela Morton who was a keen supporter of the arts. Schools receive cash donations to expand their arts programmes.
