A career in Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing

This week's Kawhe Kōrero was the last 'Careers Chat' session for the year.

We are very grateful to all of our guest speakers who have provided valuable insights and career information and shared real-life work stories with us throughout the year.

It is wonderful to have such an extensive range of professionals in our community, including past GBHS students, sharing their career pathway knowledge to help students follow their dreams.

This week's Kawhe Kōrero focused on careers in Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing and was attended by over 30 keen students interested in medical careers.

Guest speakers were Maya Plesnik (GBHS alumna), who is currently in her third year studying Pharmacology at Auckland University; Greer Cutfield, GBHS's Registered Nurse; and Dr Ona Blanks (Doctor at local Green Bay Medical Centre).

Although the 2026 Kawhe Kōrero sessions have now come to an end, GBHS's Careers Dept is always open to students for guidance and help with career and university/tertiary enquiries
