Lasting Legacy

Friday, 31st July 2026 at 8:45am

Year 13 students Rachael Stephens and Ava Rose Lee Sang have left a lasting legacy in the Waitākere Ranges!

Taking part in Te Kawerau ā Maki's native forest restoration initiative, Rachael and Ava Rose planted several Kauri as part of community and school kauri-planting days at Te Piringa in the Cascades and stream-side restoration projects supported by Auckland Council.

Proudly naming their young Kauri with our school values (and senior staff) GBHS is sure to continue to thrive in our local ngahere (forest).

Te Kawerau ā Maki actively leads and partners in native forest restoration and kauri planting events across the Waitākere Ranges and West Auckland to heal the local ngahere.
