GBHS Gets Gold

The winning smiles say it all!

NZ Fencing Secondary Schools' Competition was held in Te Pai, Henderson, over the weekend. We are very pleased to congratulate our GBHS boys' team, who took home gold in the Team Epee with all three team members fencing strongly for a 45-42 victory.

Team members: Matias Ureta, Alex Menzies and Yuki Yamada.

This is the first time that the Green Bay High School boys' Epee team have won the National title.

Earlier on Sunday, all three also competed in the individual competition. Matias finished 10th, Yuki 18th and Alex 28th out of 37 fencers. Yuki also competed in the foil individual event on Saturday, achieving 7th out of 37 fencers.
