Beach Education 2026

As part of our Year 9 Health and PE curriculum Year 9 students will be attending a beach education trip at Orewa Beach.

Students will be applying the knowledge and skills they have learnt in their PE and Health classes and exploring the beach environment with teachers and senior students. Rip spotting, lifeguard training, beach awareness and having fun in the Orewa waves are all on the agenda for this day out - with Form and PE teachers, other teachers, Senior PE students and qualified Aotearoa Surf Club instructors.

Students must wear appropriate clothing for the beach and bring togs, towel, sunblock, wetsuit (optional) and plenty of food and water.

All students will be supplied with a gear list prior to the trip. Transport will be via hired bus.

• Departing GBHS: 8.45am
• Returning GBHS: 3.00pm
