48Hr Film Comp

GBHS student filmmakers set out to create a short film in just 48 hours, as part of The Vista Foundation 48Hours filmmaking competition!
With just 48 hours to write, shoot and cut a film with a given genre and a collection of assigned elements, filmmakers compete for awards in their regions, culminating in a grand final event where the national winner takes the title of Grand National Champion.
GBHS's teams were given their required elements and genres. One team received the 'Found footage/POV' genre, and the other was given 'Musical'.
Friday night was spent furiously writing out a script, with Saturday and Sunday spent filming and editing. Both teams managed to submit their finished projects on time, and were proud of the films they made in the frantic timeframe.
"I want to acknowledge the work of Winter Davidson (Y9) who wrote most of the music and lyrics for our songs in the musical, as well as starred as our lead role," says teacher Jonathan Fowler.
" I also want to acknowledge the parents who helped out with equipment, music, transport and snacks; we couldn't have done it without them."
