Winter Play-Offs!

Monday, 11th August 2025 at 8:50am

Green Bay High School's Director of Sport, Heather Leah, shared how proud she is of all our teams across every sporting code during finals week. With outstanding effort from all our athletes, a true reflection of their hard work and commitment throughout the season.

Speaking at today's staff meeting, Heather says our students have shown incredible determination, teamwork, and resilience - both on and off the field or court. In high-pressure moments, they’ve dug deep and pushed themselves to their limits.

  • Over the past weekend, both our rugby teams finished their seasons on a high note. The 1st XV Boys' Rugby team secured a strong 43–20 win over Rutherford College, and the Under-70s Boys' Rugby team defeated Pakuranga College 49-17.
  • GBHS's Premier and Senior A netball teams are both playing off for 3rd and 4th place in their grades tomorrow night, while three of our junior teams will be competing for 1st place in their finals.
  • The 1st XI Girls’ Football team have taken out the top spot in their grade, which could see them promoted to a higher division next year, pending a possible playoff against other regional winners.
  • Our 14A Boys' Football team have made it to their grade final, where they’ll play for the championship title against King’s College this Saturday at home on the school fields.
  • A crucial game is coming up for our 1st XI Boys' Football team on Friday against Botany Downs Secondary College - please come down and support them on the GBHS field for a 3.15pm kick-off.
