Green Bay High School strives to build closer relationships with individual learners and their families, to ensure that we understand cultural needs, and to shape how we reflect them in school life.
TERM 3 HUI DATES:
Thank you to everyone who came along to our Migrant (6 August) and Pasifika (13 August) informative hui, sharing kai, korero and understanding of upcoming exams and assessments.
Our Whānau Hui is taking place next week on Wednesday 20 August, 6pm-7pm to be held in the Auditorium foyer.
Invitations have been sent via email to all of our Māori whānau with an RSVP form for attendance and catering purposes.
Please gather first in the auditorium at 6pm, where we will begin with a karakia, followed by a brief exam support chat and then have the premiere public performance of our new kapa haka group. This is a very special moment for us all, and the students are excited to share their journey.
Following the auditorium session, we will move into the foyer for more kōrero and kai.
Taking to heart the feedback we received from you last session, we are pleased to offer a short beginner’s weaving workshop. This workshop will begin with some basic tikanga information and a small weaving lesson.
We look forward to coming together as a community to support one another, celebrate our culture, and share some kai.
Please phone the school office: 817-8173 ext 201 for more information.
