Sports Round-Up (Week 5 Term 3)

Friday, 21st August 2026 at 7:32am

Year 13 Boys' Football took home a 2-0 win against St Peter's in their final game, leaving them top of the Senior B2 League, having won 10 out of 10 games! That's a 100% success rate; couldn't be prouder of this team!

Our 1st XI Football Boys' team started us off strong with a 1-0 win over Botany Downs and are hoping for another win in their final game this Friday, against Western Springs.

The 14 Development Football Boys' team won their competition and are now back-to-back champions after a 1-0 thriller against Avondale, a huge congratulations to the team. At the same time, the 14A Football Boys' team had a 1-0 win against Liston College; they now progress through to the 1st/2nd Finals this weekend.

In the Junior Netball space, our 9A, 9B, and 9 Blue teams have all made the 1st/2nd Finals this coming weekend after their victories on Saturday; it was a particularly intense finish for our 9A team who had a tight 19-18 win against Kelston Girls! Our 10A team will play off for 3rd/4th this weekend where they will work hard for a podium finish. Congratulations to our 10 Blue, 10 Green and 9 Green teams who had their last games this weekend; 10 Blue and 9 Green finished on a high, both taking home 5th Place.

It was a great finish for our mountain bikers, Tom Ross and Danika Kearins, who finished their fourth race out of five in the Cross Country Series on Sunday. Tom placed 2nd, and Danika placed 3rd in their respective grades, an excellent result for both of them! The final race in the series takes place on 6 September, we'll keep you posted on those results.

The Premier Netball team played their hearts out on Tuesday night in their finals against Western Springs. They pulled ahead in the first three quarters, proving to be the stronger team, but Western Springs weren't giving up easy and scored ahead in the final second of the game. Final score: 36-35 to Western Springs. Great learnings for our team as they now prepare themselves for UNISS in just over a week's time. We have been so proud of this team throughout the season!

On Thursday, our Table Tennis Boys' (Blue and Green) teams showed their class at the Auckland Table Tennis Champs after qualifying in their successful Term 2 season. Both teams did immensely well with virtually no breaks between games. The Blue Team even versed a team one grade above theirs and almost came away with the win after equalising in the 6th game and taking it to a 7th, a game to be so proud of! The Blue Team placed 3rd and the Green Team placed 6th in their respective grades, awesome results for our Boys!
