Kia ora e te whānau; today marks the end of our practice exam period and I am really proud of the hard work that our senior students have put in during this time. We have piloted the NZQA digital exams in several subjects as well as the NCEA Literacy and Numeracy package during the exam period. While the pilot exams have gone well overall, we’re in a really good position to give feedback to NZQA about improvements and changes that we’d like to see ahead of the roll out into all schools. We’ll be surveying students to find out more about their experience of sitting digital exams next week.

In the lead up to the end of term 3, Tom Anderson (Year 12) has been organising a can drive in support of the Auckland City Mission. Students are encouraged to bring in cans of food into their form class or to drop them off at the Student Services Reception. This is a great way for our GBHS school community to support people in need across the wider community and I want to congratulate Tom for getting this initiative off the ground.

There’s a lot happening next week and I am really looking forward to seeing all year levels back in school for the last four days of term. Just a reminder that the school will be closed as our country marks Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Day on Monday 26 September 2022.
