Level 2 PEO students experienced the thrills, chills, and spills of a lifetime during their trip to Mt Ruapehu recently.
Due to weather restrictions, there was less time spent on the ski fields, making way for other adrenaline-seeking adventures - allowing students to go ahead with their NCEA Assessment (2.7) to 'analyse the application of risk management strategies to a challenging outdoor activity' worth 3 credits.
Students were required to analyse the application of risk management strategies to a challenging outdoor activity (thus snow boarding turned into white water rafting) and apply safety management strategies. This great photo, taken by teacher Edd James captures the skills needed to apply all of the requirements!
