Amara Jacobi-Hawkins (Year 10) is one cool, calm and collected student! It is a scientific fact that reading books improves mental well-being, reduces stress, and increases comprehension and vocabulary in young people. Amara received the ‘Top Reader’ cup, taking out the record for most pages read during Term 3’s House Reading Challenge (with a whopping 49976 pages)!
Congratulations to the following students who were each awarded a $20 book voucher at today’s prizegiving ceremony: Listed here in order, with the most pages read: Amara Jacobi-Hawkins (49976), Sasha O’Keefe (17621), Isabel Tong (16933), Maerin Farrington (15485), Kayla Hume (9500), Simone Liew (8738), Rishiv Bhandari (6308).
Piha won the House award, with a total of 81626 pages read collectively.
