On Guard!

There’s been a lot of fencing activity lately! Thank you to Mary Black Tuatahifencing.co.nz for sending in these two photos, taken at the NZ Secondary Schools' competition last weekend.

GBHS students: Elsie Lins came 2nd, (on the far left) Margaret Black 6th (far right) and Olivia Woolford 14th out of 23 strong competitors from around the country. The three girls represented Green Bay High School in the teams event – winning the final with an exciting match against St Cuthberts College. Jack Hansen, James Price, Travis West-Hill and Connor Llewellyn competed in the individual boys event on Saturday. Jack, James and Travis went on to fence as GBHS team on Sunday, placing 3rd = out of 7 teams (the top two teams were Regional teams from Wellington and Christchurch).

We are very proud of all fencers who competed in this National competition - some of whom had been back in the country less than a week after competing in the Commonwealth Champs in London.
