It has been another great sporting week for GBHS Sports!
Our Girls' Basketball team had their third consecutive win last Thursday against Macleans College, way to go girls!
There was a nail-biting nil-all draw for our First XI Boys' Football on Friday night against Botany Downs Secondary College; and a tight 1-0 win for the 14A Boys' Football against Rutherford College leaves them first on the table by one point.
Dylan Gear (Yr 9) placed 2nd in the 50m Freestyle for the U15 age group at the Auckland Swimming Champs after qualifying in the Zones earlier this term, and he also placed 5th in the 50m Backstroke. Congratulations Dylan!
The Premier Netball Girls' team took home a 24-16 win against Rutherford College on Tuesday night and remain first equal on the table with Hobsonville Point Secondary School. Or Prems take on Hobsonville next week in the final game for this round, if successful they will be promoted to the 1A grade! Our Senior A, Senior Blue and Social Girls' teams also had great wins on Tuesday, making an 80% success rate for this week!
It was another great result for the First XI Girls' Football, who won 2-1 against Pakuranga College on Wednesday - keeping hold of their first place on the table!
Also on Wednesday, our Open A Basketball Boys' team played an intense game against Kaipara College and took home the win with a 3-point margin.
Our Boys' Hockey kept Liston College scoreless on Wednesday, winning 3-0 putting GBHS first equal with Waitakere College on the table!
On Thursday morning, three Yr 9 students (Otis Barrington, Jerry Cai and Daniel Gee) competed in the Auckland Ski Champs held at Snow Planet. We will keep you posted next week on the results.
Yesterday afternoon, our Girls' Hockey team took on Rutherford College ... and our Girls' Basketball played a Home Game against Michael Park School ... and the U17 Blue Basketball Boys' team were up against Onehunga High School....
The Boys' Ist XI Football team are playing Western Springs College this afternoon, with a 3:00pm kick off at Seddon Fields.
This weekend, our Saturday netball teams will be in action at Te Pai Centre. Our 14 Development Boys' Football play against our Jnr 3rd X1 Boys' Football team at 9am (Home Game) and our Year 13 Boys' Football team play against St Peters at 10am (Home Game).
GBHS's two rugby teams have away games if you want to catch our teams in action this Saturday: The U85s V Kings College at 10.30am, and our U60s go up against Macleans College, also at 10.30am.
