Pink Shirt Day (2026)

Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora – Speak up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying!
Pink Shirt Day works to reduce bullying by celebrating diversity in all its forms and supporting schools, workplaces and communities to be safe, supportive, welcoming and inclusive for everyone. By choosing compassion and standing up for each other, we can reduce bullying in Aotearoa and foster spaces where everyone feels they belong.
To celebrate this important kaupapa, students at GBHS were encouraged to dress in pink and bring along a GOLD COIN donation
Our 24/7 team of Youth Workers organised a variety of events taking place through the week leading up to Pink Shirt Day:
📍Poster Competition 📍Compliments Week 📍Bake Sale 📍Guess the number of (pink) lollies in the jar: Congratualtions to Koumei Zhang M9BOA who correclty guessed there were 52 Pink marshmallows in the jar. Come and see the school librarians to claim your prize. There were 8 students who correctly guessed 52 Marshmallows, and Koumei's name was drawn. To our runner ups - Lily Garraway M13VAK, Sofaia Nikua M9BOA, Olive Duffy M9BOA, Liam Kilpatrick W11DSZ, Anouk Alderston-Brown W9MTN, Sarah d-Young K9EVR, and Luca Jackson K10HKL please come to the library to collect your consolation prize :)
Funds raised on Pink Shirt Day support the Mental Health Foundation’s initiatives that reduce bullying and its harmful effects.
Run by the Mental Health Foundation, Pink Shirt Day is the day Aotearoa New Zealand comes together to take a stand against bullying.
