'Momentum' GBHS's Music Night was an incredible success, and we had so much fun celebrating our very talented students.

There was a real sense of excitement and anticipation throughout the evening. Students eagerly waited in the green room, counting down the moments until it was their turn to perform. It was fantastic to see their excitement, support for one another, and enthusiasm as they prepared to take the stage.

We were proud to showcase our students across a wide range of performances. Every group and performer contributed something special to the evening, demonstrating the hard work, dedication, and passion that have gone into their music-making throughout the year.

A special thank you goes to our Performing Art, and Visual Art staff who supported the evening - it truly was a group collaboration.

Special mention to our itinerant music teachers: Leza Corban, David Edmundson, Tim Stewart, Amelia Owen and Tim Gittins, who helped support our students for both solo and group performances.

Thank you to our MCs, Max Harris (Yr 12) and Campbell Wike (Yr 12), who kept the evening running smoothly with confidence and humour.

We would also like to acknowledge our stage crew: Year 11 students Ava Clarke, Lee Housley, Albertine Drumm, José Gamil, and Flynn Povey - who worked hard and thoughtfully behind the scenes when supporting each performance group. Their organisation, efficiency, and attention to detail ensured that every performance transitioned seamlessly and helped make the night such a success.

Most importantly, congratulations to all of our performers. Your courage, commitment, and excitement to share your music made the evening truly memorable. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you.

The Music Department would like to thank all whānau, friends, and community members who came along to support our students. Your encouragement means so much and helps create opportunities for our young musicians to thrive.

What a wonderful evening of music, community, and celebration. We are already looking forward to Music Night 2027.
