Last weekend, the GBHS U60s Rugby team played at the Auckland Domain for a rematch of our preseason hit-out against Auckland Grammar School (AGS). We knew they’d be a tough opposition and the boys would have to dig in to keep them at bay. A massive effort from all players in the team saw GBHS walk away with the Win: 49-14!

This was followed by another standout performance from the U85s, who also took on AGS in an impressive all-around display. From the outset, the team set the tone with disciplined and structured defence, showing real commitment across the park.

The U85s were just as impressive in attack, combining skill, pace, and smart decision-making to great effect. With quick ball movement and strong support play, they consistently found gaps in the opposition’s line, capitalising on opportunities and maintaining relentless pressure. The result was a remarkable haul of 10 tries, showcasing both individual flair and excellent team synergy. Nice win: 63 - 5 to GBHS!

Big shout out to all the supporters, including the U60s team who came across to Grammar after their game and Mrs Barker for coming to support.

The boys have earned a well deserved rest over the term break, and will be ready for action on the first Saturday of Term 3.
