Weekly Round-Up:

Football and Netball last weekend had its ups and downs with a mixture of wins and losses and a draw for our lst XI Boys' Football against Liston. A notable mention to our Year 9A Netball Girls' who had a great comeback to win 21-20 over St Dominic's. Both our Rugby teams had awesome wins over Waitakere and Auckland Grammar.

Behind the scenes on Sunday we had three events taking place which were Swimming, Orienteering, and Fencing.

Isaac Gear (Yr 13) (swimming) competed in the Zone Finals and took home a gold medal in the 50m Free, and a bronze medal in the 50m Fly! Isaac then competed in the Individual Champs Event later in the day and came away with two silver medals for 100m and 200m Freestyle. A massive achievement for him! Rosie Klimetz (Yr 9), Henry Klimetz (Yr 10), Jojo Breacker (Yr 9), and Sheehan Peris (Yr 10) all had great races too and came away with some awesome personal bests!

Well done to Oscar Dellow (Yr 11) who placed 3rd in the Mens' Artistic A-Grade of the Auckland Secondary Schools' Gymnastics competition!

Orienteering took place in Woodhill Forest, a huge well done to all those who competed. Some of our top placers in this event were Aidan Barrett-Hamilton (Yr 9) (1st Place in Junior Boys), Marina Zheng (Yr 9) and Fran Ishida (yr 9) (2nd Place in Junior Girls' Team Event), and Alexis Heckler (Yr 13) (6th in Senior Girls).

Our fabulous Fencers: Travis West-Hill (Yr 13), James MacDonald (Yr 13), and Matias Ureta (Yr 11) did so well to win their competition in a close match against Mount Albert Grammar. Even more impressive is the fact that they remain the top Fencing North Secondary School team for the fourth consecutive year!

Senior Netball had some great results despite the appalling weather conditions with both our Senior A and Senior B teams winning against Lynfield and Western Springs. Our indoor game for the Premier team has been postponed until next Monday due to the slipping hazards the weather was causing.

Five of our Squash teams competed in the second Squash One Day Tournament over on the North Shore on Wednesday. Our Girls' team came 1st in their grade, a great effort from them with a special mention to Miriama Brown (Yr 9) who was praised by other schools for her composure and technique on the court. Our boys had three placing teams; our Senior Boys' team came 3rd in their grade, Junior Boys' Team 1 came away with 1st place, and Junior Boys' Team 3 came away with 3rd place.

The Girls' lst XI Football had a dominant 5-1 win over Saint Kentigern on home soil, the sideline support was amazing to see. And our Junior Girls played catch up game against Lynfield on Monday and came away with a stunning 12-0 win!

Our Boys' Hockey and some Basketball results are still to be confirmed from Wednesday's games, but great news for our Junior Blue Basketball who won 39-26 over Liston. This afternoon (Thursday 12 June), our U17 Open and Senior Development go head-to-head against Saint Peter's and Kelston. Both teams are playing here at home, come down and give them some support!

Our Girls' Hockey played against Western Springs last night (Thursday 12 June) following on from another great 3-2 win over Henderson last Thursday, despite not having a full team on the court for the entire game! Also last night (Thursday 12 June), our U17 Open and Senior Development teams went head-to-head against Saint Peter's College and Kelston Boys' College. Both teams played at home. Results of last nights games are still pending.

On Friday (13 June) our lst XI Football go up against Avondale at Crum Park. Our other Football Boys, Rugby Boys and Junior Netball Girls' teams will be starting a fresh round on Saturday morning. Our 2nd XI and 14 Development Football Boys are playing here at school, and so are our Rugby U70s, come on down to support!
