- For those of you who are not going away for the long weekend, be sure to head on down to TONIGHT's night's game (Friday 30 May 2025) and support the GBHS 1st XI Football Boys' as they take on Western Springs at Crum Park: 7.30pm.
Weekly Round-Up:
- Our Girls' Hockey team had a great game last night (in the thunder and lightning) with a 6-1 win against St Dominic's.
- GBHS's Orienteering crew competed in the Individual Champs on Thursday down in Waiuku Forest. They gave it their blood, sweat, but no tears out on the course with all that cutty grass trying (but failing) to slow them down. A huge well done to Amian Gaillard (Yr 9) who came 1st in the Standard Course Race!
- Six of our nine Football Boys' teams won their games last weekend. Some mentionable scores were our 2nd XI Boys' winning 7-0 over Massey High and our 14 Development Boys' winning 12-0 over Auckland Grammar. Well done!
- Junior Netball girls' also had a successful run last weekend, with most teams coming away with a win. Special mention to the 10A girls' who did especially well to win 44-4 over Massey High.
- Both of GBHS's Rugby teams had tough defeats to Kelston and Macleans last weeked, but the boys are ready to reset and go again!
- Senior Netball did well out in the cold, with a mix of wins and losses. Our Premier Girls' team managed to hold Avondale College at bay long enough to win 29-28!
- Junior Squash Boys' competed in a one day tournament on Wednesday with our three teams placing 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the competition.
- The 1st XI Girls' Football team had a stunning 3-0 win over St Mary's College on Wednesday, but it was a tough loss for our Junior Girls' team who played against Rutherford.
- Boys' Hockey had a great 5-2 win over Waitakere College this week.
- Our Junior Basketball (Green) team had a close 47-45 loss against Western Springs on Wednesday evening.
Congratulations to our school Sport Council who held a lunchtime pickleball tournament on Wednesday with a great turn out, a job well done to those who planned the event!
