Goethe-Institut German Immersion scholarship weekend (9-11 May 2025):

Congratulations to Year 11 student Stella Raccuglia whose outstanding application has earned her a spot at the German Immersion Weekend in Wellington, hosted by the Goethe-Institut!

This event has become one of the most anticipated highlights on the German learning calendar in New Zealand, bringing together students from across the country for a weekend of full language immersion, cultural exchange, and engaging activities.

Many students from GBHS and all over New Zealand applied, however, Stella stood out with her convincing slides and an outstanding application video showcasing her German skills and creativity.

This specific scholarship caters to students who are currently learning German at school and includes transport to and from Wellington, flights, airport pick-up, meals and accommodation.

Throughout the weekend, Stella will participate in an interactive, creative, and informative program intended for young German learners, including different aspects of the German culture and life in Germany.

The Goethe-Institut, Germany's cultural institute, is committed to supporting those interested in German culture and language - focusing on different cultural events and language acquisition with a wide range of events such as classes and exams, book clubs, film screenings, artist residencies and scholarships.

GBHS is grateful for the ongoing support and incredible opportunities the Goethe-Institut offers our young language learners.
