Rugby Wrap-up (Term 2)

GBHS is proud to field two rugby teams for the 2025 season: an Open 1st XV and an Under 70kg team.

Both teams are well into their seasons and achieving fantastic results, currently sitting in the top 4 spots of their respective competitions. They’ve shown grit and determination, making every point hard-earned for their opposition.

The development of individual and team skills has been impressive, with the players rising to every challenge thrown their way.

This season, our players are proudly wearing team training shirts, sideline jackets, and have GBHS-branded drink bottles – gear that has helped foster a strong sense of pride and unity. This was made possible thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of the players and their families, who got behind three sausage sizzles and a highly successful raffle.

A huge thank you goes the teams' major sponsors for their generous support: New World Green Bay, Fresh Choice Titirangi, Cameron Panelbeaters Ltd, the Suburbs Rugby Club Presidents' Team (The Katipōs) and a couple incredible monetary donations by private donors. Thank you also to those individuals and companies who provided prizes for the raffle, we are very grateful to you all.

Both teams will now enjoy a well-earned break over the school holidays before heading into Term 3 for the final round-robin matches - and hopefully, a place in the finals. Watch this space!
