GBHS's Best Results Yet!
On Saturday, 9 August 2025, the University of Auckland hosted the New Zealand Programming Contest (NZPC) – a nationwide challenge held simultaneously in six centres: Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill. This year saw 57 high school teams put their coding skills to the test.
Each team typically has three members, but two of our Green Bay High School teams took on the challenge with just two! Our teams were:
- '74000 Bees': Rin Lott and Bodhi Hellesoe
- 'Clippy’s Return': Lucas West and Charlie Whitten
- 'Disco': Blake Werner, Theo Witten-Hannah, and Dan McLaren
We are thrilled to share that '74000 Bees' placed 6th with an impressive 112 points – our highest placing to date! 'Clippy’s Return' came in 22nd with 43 points, while 'Disco' finished 47th with 6 points.
This marks the best results Green Bay High School has achieved in the NZPC. Congratulations to all our talented coders for their hard work, teamwork, and determination!
