TERM 2 HOUSE EVENTS:

🔵5 - 9 May 2025 (Week 2) 'Four Square' House Competition - see details below!
🔵19 - 23 May 2025 (Week 4) 'Spelling Bee' House Competition
🔵26 - 30 May 2025 (Week 5) 'E-Sports' House Competition
🔵16 - 19 June 2025 (Week 8) 'Matariki Games' House Competition
🔵23 - 27 June 2025 (Week 9) 'Flip The Coin' House Competition

Four Square House Competition:

  • Who: Open to all - students & staff
  • What: Four Square competition
  • When: Monday 5th May & Tuesday 6th May - lunchtimes
  • Where: Turf
  • Why: Whānaungatanga - making connections and having fun

Format:

  • There will be 6 four squares
  • Four people will play against one another
  • Games are timed for 3 minutes
  • The person in the ‘Royalty’ square at the end of the 3 minutes will win their respective game.

House Points:

  • Participation = 1 house point
  • Royalty winner = 3 house points

Featuring special performance by DJ Madi Povey - jamming a Live ‘international’ DJ set!

Green Bay High School's 'House' events are run throughout the year with points awarded. As well as school-wide competitions, individual students can earn House points for outstanding academic and/or community-based achievements. The Leader Board, situated in Student Services, clearly shows which House is in the lead. Students belong to one of five Houses which are named after our local beaches:

Anawhata (black) Karekare (yellow) Muriwai (blue) Piha (green) Whatipu (red)

Which HOUSE do you belong to? Check your Timetable, the first letter of your Form Class shows which House you are associated with eg M9MGG = Muriwai, Yr9, Form Teacher: Jake McGregor.
