Level 2 and 3 Spanish classes went to the Auckland CBD/Te Tōangaroa yesterday (Thursday 15 May 2025) to discover how Spanish and Hispanic culture is present in our own city.
The day began with a visit to the Auckland Central Library, where students explored a collection of around 300 books in Spanish through a lively treasure hunt. The next stop was a communicative class with Gloria Vázquez, Lecturer of Spanish Studies at AUT and President of the NZ Spanish Teachers Association, which students thoroughly enjoyed.
After a delicious churro break, the group visited the Auckland Art Gallery to learn about the works of some of the greatest Spanish painters. The day ended with a well-deserved Mexican meal, wrapping up a fantastic and culturally enriching experience.
