Lunchtime Cultural Performance: Celebrating GBHS's diverse cultures!

GBHS's student Cultural Council did a fantastic job of embracing cultures and bringing everyone together for today's lunchtime Cultural Week performance, held in the school auditorium.

Absolutely stunning!

The informative display in the audi foyer with posters about a range of different ethnic groups represented at GBHS allowed staff and students to learn more about the wider world we live in - celebrating all of our diverse cultures by creating an environment where all students feel a sense of belonging and connectedness.

Throughout the week there is something for everyone to enjoy, from dance, food, music, art, and sport, to a quiz, scavenger hunt, henna painting and (temporary) Cook Island tattoo!

Special evening event: Be sure to check out the Junior Language Art display tomorrow in L Block (Wednesday 11 June: 4pm - 6pm).

On Thursday, there will be volleyball in the gym, with pacific beats!

On Friday there is a food sale at lunchtime, with kai from different cultures for sale (gold coin donation) - proceed towards Cultural Week 2026)

Also on Friday, students are invited to dress in their formal cultural dress - proudly representing their heritage. Note: this is a NOT a mufti day.
