GBHS Student Assessment Handbook
Please note the Assessment Policy for Extension Requests (page 5) of the Student Assessment Handbook has been updated (23/5/2025) to reflect the following information (noted in brief below):
- All work must be handed in on time. If a student thinks they are eligible for an extension of time or a change-of-date for an assessment they must complete the Extension Request Form: Extension Requests Form
- An application must be made within 2 school days before the assessment date.
- Evidence must be provided to support the claim. If a valid reason is provided, an extension or further assessment opportunity will be given, where practicable. This will be at the discretion of the HOD and Teacher in consultation with the Principal’s Nominee.
- If an extension is required because of unexpected illness or injury, a medical certificate should be supplied and the application made on the day the student returns to school. Failure to do so will result in a ‘Not Achieved’ grade being awarded.
- Extensions will be granted for illness/injury (with a doctor’s medical note), or bereavement (testimonial or copy of order of service)
For full information, please refer to the Student Assessment Handbook.
