On Saturday 8 June, the Farrenc Trio from Green Bay High School participated in the NZCT Chamber Music Contest for the first time, held at the Ray Freeman Centre.

Year 11 students Regina Wu and Hollie Sorensen, and Year 13 student Xander Evans, performed a 13-minute piece titled 'Trio for Flute, Piano, and Cello' composed by Louise Farrenc. The trio was excited to perform and had a lot of fun preparing for the competition, learning many performance skills along the way.

The NZCT Chamber Music Contest is made up of three parts, starting with the District Rounds, and three Regional Finals from which eight ensembles will be selected to proceed to the National Finals.
