Premier Debaters

Krisha Karippail, Keya Parekh, and Emma Goldstone are Green Bay High School's premier debate team, who went to the Auckland Regional Championships over the weekend.

Our GBHS team dominated the competition by winning all four of their preliminary debates to make the quarterfinals - going on to win that match against a St Cuthberts team and were placed in the semi finals, where they only narrowly lost to a St Kentigern team.

GBHS came 3rd overall in Auckland out of 66 teams!

Teams are selected at each tournament to represent each region at the National Finals of the New Zealand Schools’ Debating National Championships. Congratulations to Krisha who was selected for the Auckland team to compete at nationals in Wellington. This round of the competition leads to the New Zealand Schools’ Debating Team selection, where students represent New Zealand at the World Schools Debating Championships.
