Outward Bound Trio

Congratulations to Year 12 students Matt Dixon, Ruby Livesey, and Nathan Williamson, who have been successful in their application to receive an Outward Bound scholarship (worth over $6000)!

Our intrepid trio are leaving Auckland tomorrow (Tuesday 3 March, 2026), flying into Blenheim and meeting the Outward Bound team in Picton to begin their 21-day Hiranga Outward Bound course in Queen Charlotte Sounds.

The Hiranga course helps young people develop leadership qualities and approach new challenges with confidence and self-belief.

"I'm looking forward to challenging myself," says Ruby, with Matt adding "and getting outdoors."

Students will be device-free throughout the course, waking each day to a variety of challenges - anything from hiking through native bush, paddling across open water or working as a team to solve problems.

"I'm looking forward to meeting new people and making new connections," says Nathan.

We are looking forward to hearing all about their adventures upon their return!
