Over 100 students from Green Bay High School took part in Auckland's 12Hr Relay For Life event on Saturday, 28 March, to raise funds for New Zealanders affected by cancer - raising close to $20,000!
Collectively, the GBHS team ran/walked 2567km - the distance from Cape Reinga, to Wellington, and back!
With 102 GBHS participants, this is a phenomenal effort on everyone's part. Special mention to: 💜Alistair Peterson, who ran a total of 66km. 💜Elliot Coleman, who raised $1200 - and read her thought-provoking poem onstage before the candlelight walk - a sombre moment of reflection. 💜Winter Davidson, who won the Talent Show!
Thanks to your support, our team has helped to make a real difference for New Zealanders with cancer and their whānau. All funds raised go to the Cancer Society's supportive care services, education programmes, prevention policy, and life-saving cancer research.
