Raising School Spirit: Get ready for GBHS’s first major House event of 2026 Carnival Day!
Carnival Day is all about fun, friendship, friendly rivalry, and celebrating the incredible spirit of our school community.

Be Ready for Action! Come dressed for movement and fun: ✔️ Wear appropriate active clothing ✔️ Wear your House colours! (Anawhata: Black), (Karekare: Yellow), (Muirwai: Blue), (Whatipu: Red), (Piha: Green) ✔️ Bring your energy and enthusiasm 🎨 The day kicks off with a Form Time Challenge, giving you time for any last-minute costume touch-ups before the action begins 🚫 JEANS are NOT appropriate for Carnival Day

Live Music All Day! 🎧 Enjoy live DJ sets throughout the day from a talented GBHS ex-student DJ, bringing the carnival vibes across all activity zones. 🎸 At lunchtime, head to the turf under the new shade canopy for live performances from our very own GBHS bands. Come along, grab your lunch, and support our incredible student musicians!
What’s Happening? Students will rotate through five exciting activity zones throughout the day: 🎭 Wacky World 🎪 Carnivàle Area 🎈 Inflatables 🏃♂️ Casual Athletes 🧘♀️ The Shade Shack There’s something for everyone - whether you’re competitive, creative, or just keen to enjoy the vibe.

🆕 NEW in 2026: The Green Bay Miracle Mile - a feature race for serious runners that we hope to make a proud annual tradition!
Food & Refreshments The tuck shop will be open at interval and lunchtime, featuring special combo deals. Students can now pre-order using the kiosks - quick, easy, and no missing out!
Supporting a Great Cause During Form Time, we’ll be collecting gold coin donations in support of Visionwest, a local charity providing vital community services. Every contribution makes a difference.
Extra Carnival Fun! Bring a few extra gold coins for: 💦 The chance to soak your teachers 🍧 Delicious snow cones (always a crowd favourite!) and refreshment stalls
This will be a high-energy, music-filled, laughter-packed day full of competition, connection, and House pride. Let’s make Carnival Day 2026 the best one yet — we can’t wait to see everyone getting involved! 🔥💛
