$16K+ raised for Cancer

Well done to everyone who participated, the event not only takes a toll on the body, but is an emotional journey as well.

The sore feet, sore muscles, and aching backs are a testament to the fantastic GBHS's Relay For Life effort on Saturday, having reached over $16,000 in their fundraising efforts for Cancer research.

Averaging $1000 per kilometre, the GBHS's Relay For Life team walked/ran a total of over 1500km on the day - the distance from Cape Reinga to Wellington to Hamilton - the students were phenomenal!

The evening tealight candle lap, with paper bags lovingly decorated in memory of those who have been affected by the cancer journey in one way or another, was a significant time to reminisce and reflect.
