Stranger Danger

Tuesday, 8th April 2025 at 9:00am

Green Bay High School has been informed of an incident involving an adult male in our local community who approached a student with suspicious intent in the area around Taupo Street off Godley Road earlier this week (7 April 2025) after school between 3:15pm - 3:30pm.

This matter has been reported to the police.

  1. It is timely to remind all students that when they are walking to and from school and co-curricular activities:
  2. to walk in pairs or groups whenever possible
  3. to walk in well-lit areas where others are around
  4. to leave at least one ear free of headphones to hear vehicles/persons approaching
  5. if they are feeling worried, unsafe or nervous - to go to the nearest place where there are people
  6. consider taking photos or noting registration plates
  7. Dial 111 and ask for Police (no credit required for emergency calls)

We ask that you speak to your child about ‘Stranger Danger’ and the importance of keeping themselves safe at all times. We will be reinforcing this message with our students via our Daily Notices and Google Classroom.

Thank you for your cooperation.
